Playa del Carmen, called by its inhabitants as Playa, the tourist center of the Mayan Riviera par excellence, considered as such for being luxurious, innovative and varied to the core is nothing more and nothing less than one of five tourist districts into which the Riviera Maya is divided.

This stretch of paradisiacal beaches has been considered one of the most attractive places for tourists because of its relaxed vibe and where rest becomes the only goal through visits to emblematic sites, parks that have places to tour and beaches that will leave you amazed by its beauty.

If there is something that makes Playa Del Carmen stand out among the options for your destination wedding, is the magnetism of its beaches and each of its corners. Its undeniable beauty that floods your senses, from the moment you get off the plane and start walking its streets, makes the turquoise color and the murmur of its waters become the best welcome.

Getting married in paradise is definitely possible and that is because Playa del Carmen has the best locations to enjoy a few days of vacation after your wedding or on your honeymoon with the person you love.

Now, this tourist area in constant and fast growth, is full of adventures to live, either for adrenaline or total rest lovers, occupying your mind only in which new place you will visit tomorrow and that must go in your hand luggage.

Playa is located within the Riviera Maya, extending from south of Cancun to Tulum and the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an.

Below, you will find a wide variety of options for you to choose the best where, how, when and what places to visit before or after your wedding, or with your guests if you wish.

Best Time of the Year for Weddings in Playa Del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is a warm zone due to its location on the coast of the Riviera Maya, having also months of constant rain and rainfall of intermediate intensity, within which is the well called Hurricane Season from June 1st to November 30th due to its high speed winds. This does not mean that there is a possibility of hurricanes during these months, but instead refers to the high intensity winds you can find there.

How to know when it is high and low season?

In Mexico, the season where foreign and local vacationers most attend the area goes hand in hand with the school calendar, which is at its highest during the months of June, July and August.

This leaves the months of February, May, September, October and November as the most indicated if you want to travel in low season and enjoy a few hours alone with your enjoying only the murmur of the waves of the sea without music or shouts of tourists that disturb you and allow you to enjoy every moment.

Best Season for Weddings in Playa Del Carmen

Our destination wedding specialist, @sofiagarciaweddings, recommends the months of October and November as the most ideal and coolest if you want to enjoy days with temperatures that do not rise above 22°C (71°F).

Playa del Carmen, like the whole Riviera Maya, has an average warm temperature of 24°C (75°F) during most of the year, decreasing slightly to about 23°C (73°F) in the months of January, February, March and April, during which temperatures are pleasant, mild and sunny all day long. Visiting this destination during the months we mentioned is ideal for your comfort and that of your guests.
