Alexandra and Joshua’s big day is a great example of a boho-chic wedding that incorporates elements of nature along with a certain romanticism and individuality. The celebration of this destination wedding in our top venue on the Riviera Maya
Their dream was having a destination wedding in Playa del Carmen and Alexandra contacted us in January 2019 :
“After reading several wonderful reviews I have decided to inquire about Blue venado for my wedding…” She said she didn’t know where to start but after a call with Mari, one of our wedding coordinators, she sent us an email saying: “ We want a really relaxed, intimate and simple wedding with no color scheme in mind” and a list of all the services and elements they would have loved.
Alexandra got ready at Blue Venado bridal suite with her MOH, her mom, and mother in law and had a lovely getting a ready session with them while Joshua and all the guests stayed at Hotel Xcaret a few minutes from playa del carmen.
A refreshing pineapple margarita, some aguas frescas and a few minutes later everybody had taken a seat; the stunning sea backdrop was accentuated with a huge triangle decorated with 2 marvelous floral arrangements: warm and bold red tones mixed with an earthy and neutral palette match perfectly with our tropical environment.
Joshua and the wedding party already entered and Alexandra’s parents escorted her up the aisle to Sleepy at last’s “Every Little thing she does is magic”. It was a short and lovely beach ceremony officiated by a family friend who created a very intimate moment.
After taking portraits along the water and in our “wild spot”, our newlyweds joined guests for cocktail hour: the bar was open and traditional margaritas, mojitos and signature drinks were served.
People were invited to find their spot at the reception table: a big U shape table in the middle of the palapa, a boho-style place matt, rust napkins, pampas grass vases, some candles, string lights and a few rust, orange, green flowers.
After the grand entrance dinner was served: a 3-course gourmet menú started with a Caprese salad, then a steak Covered with black truffles and Foie-gras sauce or a chicken Scaloppine & Risotto with mushrooms (according to guests’ previous selection ) that was followed by chocolate with rum sauce.
Guests were happy and super satisfied.
“ Tennessee Whiskey ” by Chris Stapelton notes invited Alexandra and Joshua to the dance floor and after their first dance as a married couple, everybody joined them.
They wanted to add a Mexican element to their big day and a piñata was the perfect way to entertain kids and adults, but you should have seen people face when a churro cart arrived and started making fresh churros.
It was a wonderful day with a magical atmosphere! They said their dream destination wedding had come true!
